Following a spell in hospital in Edinburgh Darren is now back home and recovering from his injuries.
Following a series of examinations and check-ups, at both the Royal Infirmary, Edinburgh and the Borders General hospital, his family are happy to announce his condition is continually improving. The surgeons involved in his care are happy with Darren’s progress and, providing his recovery continues on the same track, they believe further surgical operations may not be needed.
Darren is still in some discomfort as a result of his injuries, which include a fairly large haematoma to the abdomen, which could take some time for the swelling and bruising to settle down, along with damage to his pancreas and a blood clot near his heart. However, his doctors have expressed a high degree of hope that with continuous monitoring he will make a full recovery.
Darren would like to thank everyone who has supported his recovery, their continual good wishes and for all the generous donations to the fundraiser that was set up to ensure his safe return home.
